According to him, the dissemination of this case was the commitment of the National Police with the sustainability of the forest, thanks to the state of warning of the Task Force of the Forest Movement (PPH) and the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Regional Police of Riau.
“The management of this case shows the state of alertness and commitment of the Regional Police of Riau, especially Ditreskrimsus to maintain forest sustainability of efforts to change the function of the land in oil palm plantations without permission,” Rajiv said through his statement on Tuesday, June 9, 2025.

“We must firmly carry out the mandate of the laws that have prohibited the activities of the use of forest areas without permission, with the threat of imprisonment of up to 10 years and a fine of RP 7.5 billion,” said the member of the DPR faction of the Nasdem party.
Therefore, Rajiv encouraged the Ministry of Silviculture to work together with the National Police to increase supervision and protection so that the forest remains sustainable and productive. Because, he believes that similar crimes also occur in several other forest areas of Indonesia, not only in Riau.
Because, Rajiv admitted that the still weak and practice of the use of the land based on usual claims without verification are often used by the perpetrators of forest invaders as a gap to violate the law.
“I encourage the bosses to work with the police to ensure the Indonesian forests of 120.6 million hectares. Because every year, Indonesia loses hundreds of thousands of hectares of forest areas due to the illegal uncertainty of the invasion and conversion, most of them due to plantation needs,” said the legislator of the electoral district (Dapil) of Java II.
In addition, Rajiv said that the Commission of the IV House of Representatives would certainly fully support the application efforts of the law so that the forests in Indonesia were maintained and sustainable. Then, he said, the Ministry of Silviculture is expected to strengthen supervision with the use of technology and legal actions for perpetrators.
“Raise supervision using satellite monitoring technology, as well as to guarantee the existence and effectiveness of the Forest Management Unit (KPH) in each region. Not only that, I also ask the National Police to sign up in the invasion of the forest throughout Indonesia,” Rajiv said again.
He previously reported, the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Riau Regional Police dismantled the practice of illegal forest areas in the regency of Kampar. In total there were four people who were suspicious.
The reason is that it is suspected that they handle the oil palm plantations without permission in a limited production forest area and the ABU protected forest, which is located in the Balung village, the Koto Koto district.
The Riau police chief, the police inspector General Herry Heryawan explained that the land that had been opened and planted with palm perpetrators is estimated to reach dozens of hectares, with the age of the plants varied between six and two years.
“The suspects open and manage oil palm plantations illegally in the area of the protected forest. This is clearly a violation of the Forest and Environmental Destruction Law,” he said on Monday, June 9, 2025.
He said his party was committed to taking energetic measures against all forms of crimes that threatened the sustainability of the environment and the sustainability of natural resources.
Hermin said Heryawan, there was no tolerance to the destruction of the forest. He stressed that the police against the perpetrators of environmental crimes are part of the efforts of the National Police to save the future of ecosystems and society.
“Forest crime is not only a violation of land administration, but a crime that has a systemic impact on ecology, climate and the security of future generations,” he emphasized.
In addition, he said that this is part of the implementation of green surveillance policies, which is the Polri approach to maintain environmental sustainability through the function of preventive, preventive and repressive functions in an integrated way.
