Member of the Commission of the House of Representatives I Junico Siahaan strongly condemned Israel’s actions that violated international humanitarian law and the basic principles of humanity.

“Israel’s actions reflect violations of international law and the role of countries that serve for humanity,” said Junico, in his statement, cited on Monday, June 9, 2025.

According to him, Israeli attacks such as attacking the solidarity of humanitarian aid raised by Indonesia.

“What was attacked were not only buildings, but also the existence of Indonesia as a nation that defends humanitarian solidarity through the borders,” continued the PDIP politician who knows familiarly only.

The condition of the Indonesian hospital in Gaza was seriously damaged and was forced to close due to the siege and an attack by the Israeli army on May 18, 2025. The Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) reported that Israeli attacks were not only attacked to the Indonesian hospital, but also Wisma Joserizal located in Beit Lahia.

Israeli aggression causes structural damage to Indonesian hospitals and weakens health services. Mer-C explained that the hospital condition was concerned about the impact of Israeli attacks.

Nico said that the Indonesian hospital in Gaza was built from the contribution of the Indonesian people and administered by MER-C volunteers. He said that the existence of Indonesian hospitals in Gaza as a real symbol of concern and humanitarian commitment to the struggle of the Palestinian people.

According to him, the Israeli attack has occurred more than two slowly since May 18, 2025. However, Indonesian hospitals still provide services in the middle of the siege without access to food, clean water and electricity.

“This condition must make the location a safe area,” Nico explained.

However, in reality, the Indonesian hospital was even the objective of Israeli attacks.

“The hospital was invaded, the volunteers were forced to leave and the world again witnessed war crimes without consequences,” he said.

For him, the incident of Israeli attacks is not just an ordinary human tragedy. However, as a structured action and can be classified as war crimes.
He said that the form of the attack by Israel against medical facilities was a serious violation of the Geneva Convention.

In addition, Nico asked the Indonesian government to take firm measures immediately in the international domain of Israel’s actions.
One of them Indonesia can seek active support in the United Nations Security Council (UN, the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the UN General Assembly for investigation and prosecution of Israeli crimes.

Then, he said that Indonesia’s steps could also encourage the formation of an independent international research team under the United Nations mandate. This is to investigate the destruction of civil facilities, including the Indonesian hospital.

According to him, Indonesia must continue to increase regional coordination, especially through the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) to generate real pressure on Israel through military and economic sanctions.

“Including the guarantee of the sustainability of diplomatic and humanitarian communication with Indonesian volunteers and humanitarian networks in Gaza,” Nico said.

In addition, he also requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and intelligence institutions related to immediately activate special diplomatic paths and coordinate with international humanitarian organizations. Nico said it was to avoid the void of the information that ran the risk of increasing impunity.

“The destruction of the Indonesian hospital is not just a Palestinian problem. This is an attack on the role of Indonesia in the worldwide stage of humanity,” said Nico.
