This was the center of attention of the DPD member Ri Paul Fintsen Major. The Senator of the Southwest of Papua alluded to the need to participate as OAP as a worker at PT GAG, Raja Ampat, southwest of southwest Papua.

According to Finten, the OAP number is less than 10 percent of the number of existing workers.

“Indigenous Papules are owners of land, sea and mountains in the land of Papua. Therefore, they must participate in all national and international companies that operate in Papua, as a representation of indigenous peoples,” said Paul Finten, in his statement, Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Paul said the mandate of the Special Autonomy Law, local workers must comply with the 80 percent quota. Meanwhile, 20 percent are abroad workers who have expert qualifications.

“I hope the mandate of the Special Autonomy Law is obeyed. You must pay attention to local indigenous peoples,” Paul continued.

“At present, indigenous papúes who are workers of PT ga ga do not have up to 10 percent. Although the company has been operating for a long time,” said Fienen.

According to him, the impulse for revocation of operational licenses of four mining companies is the right time to perform a representation of 80 percent of OAP workers. He suggested that OAP workers in four mining companies whose IUPs were closed by President Pabowo Subianto, were diverted to work at PT GAG.

“Then, indigenous papúes who have been working on four companies that have been closed by IUP in Manuran Island and Kae Island, can be used for PT GAG in Gag Island. I think it’s a good solution,” Paul said.

Paul was ready to reach an agreement to accommodate OAP’s participation to comply with the fee. He said that the agreement was known by the related parties, both for the office of the workforce and of the Papua community, in this case the consutional council.
