Bogor, Viva – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Pabowo Subianto, said he had a special history with the former president of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). According to Pabowo, his long history and Sby were already known throughout the nation.

Pabowo revealed this in his comments in the inauguration of the Bhinneka Tunggal IKA campus at the University of Defense (UNHAN), Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
“I think the nation and the country already know that my story is the same as Mr. Sby, some laugh. Mr. Sby and I have a special history, history,” Pabowo said.

It is known that Pabowo and Sby are a generation when they enter the Academy of the Armed Forces of Indonesia (Akabri), or now the Military Academy (AKMIL) in 1970. However, SBY graduated first in 1973, while Pabowo graduated a year later.

“Once we were in the same generation when it entered the cadets, it was out of 1973. Because the Alma Mater at that time was very worried about me, I was very in love with me, the one -year education added to me,” Pabowo explained.
According to Pabowo, it was evidence of the greatness of military education institutions. The coasts that are mature can pass first. In addition to that, Pabowo said that he and SBY finally became president of Indonesia.
“Perhaps the greatness of our educational institutions, these cades are mature, please (graduates), this must polish a little. But both become president of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
However, Pabowo asked the cadet and the students of the University of Defense to imitate SBY, not him. Pabowo was called anomaly.
“The cadet, the students who have to example, Mr. Sby, do nothing. I am an anomaly,” he said.
