VIVA -The Indonesia has been invaded by Chinese cars, the Chinese brand went mass to cheer the passenger car segment offering several products with combustion engines, hybrids, pure electricity.

The price offered is certainly more affordable than Japanese and European brands, but in a competitive, even more complete characteristic for cars in their class.

Wuling Motors is possibly one of the opening of Chinese cars again well received in the country. Because previously many brands were out of business and returned to the present as Chery and Geely.

Seeing Wuling’s success, several Chinese brands, one by one present in RI. Followed by DFSK in 2019, and now not only offer fuel engine cars, but also electricity through beings.

Byd as the king of electric vehicles in the global market is present in Indonesia, in 2024. So far it is still focused on offering electric cars.

Last year, Indomobil again introduced the new GAC Aion New Energy Co. Ltd. then BAIC, or Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. sold through PT Jio Distribution Indonesia (JDI).

Entering 2025 ByD introduced its premium brand, namely, denza. Then followed by Geely, Jaecoo and Xpeng as newcomers.

But according to the data of the Indonesian Association of the automotive industry, or Gaikindo, only 13 brands have made sales. For retail figures or concessionaires sales to consumers, in January-May of 2025 in total it reached 36,189 units.

Byd became the best Chinese car in the sale, as a newcomer to the brand born in Shenzhen, defeated several brands that had already been present in the country. For five months this year, the car has sold 11,533 units to consumers.

This means that the BYD cars sell more than Wuling, which are more complete. Taking into account that Byd only sells five electric cars, namely, Dolphin, Atto 3, M6, Seal and Sealion 7. While Wuling for Electricity is EV, Cloud EV, Binguoev and Hybrid are Almaz, and the trucks in the Livian commercial segment are formed and confess or cortez for the conventional classes of MPV.
