According to a medical report from the Santa Fe Foundation, Uribe Turbay was urgently taken to the hospital in a critical condition and still underwent “nerve and vascular surgery procedures.”

Reporting Sky News, his wife, Maria Claudia Tarazone, even had time to get on account X that her husband was “fighting for her life” and requested prayers of all the people of Colombia.
Shortly after, Tarazone gave the last news that was said. “Miguel left the operating room, he succeeded. Every hour is a critical moment. He fought for the first time and went well. He would take time,” she wrote, said a long fight that her husband had to pass.
The hospital explained that Uribe Turbay had undergone surgery in the head and left in the thigh. Now he is still in intensive care, where the doctors team continues to stabilize their condition. Even more surprising, the suspect of the attack was a 15 -year -old teenager. He was arrested on the scene with evidence of firearms. General Police Chief Carlos Triana added that the suspect was also receiving treatment due to feet injuries.
The Colombian government did not remain silent. They immediately offered a fantastic prize of $ 730,000 (around RP12 billion) for any person who had information related to this incident. President Gustavo Petro firmly declared that the investigation would focus on revealing who was behind the brutal attack.
“For now there is nothing more than a hypothesis,” Petro said. He also confirmed that he would investigate a failure in a security protocol that was supposed to protect Senator Uribe Turbay.

It is known that Uribe Turbay announced his nomination as president in March, representing the Central Democratic Party.
