He considered the policies taken by Bahlil in favor of people and open opportunities so that the sector of small and medium enterprises (MSME) participates in mining management.
“We consider that this policy is a concrete demonstration of government alignments with small people. MSME must obtain greater access, and Minister Bahlil’s policy has shown that the State is present for them,” Sarmuji said in his statement, on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

He gave an example of a nickel mining commercial license (IUP) owned by PT Gag Nickel in Raja Ampat Regency, southwest Papua, who was temporarily arrested by Bahlil.
Sarmuji said the mining permit was made by the previous minister, but his mistake was delivered to the current minister.

“Do not let the public be trapped in an unfair narrative. This is not a matter of personal bahlil, but how the State is present for people,” he said.
Sarmuji also said that so far the national mining sector tends to be dominated by large companies. The previously applicable policies benefit more corporate interests, including wide space for foreign interests through import policies and others.
For a long time it has been a complaint from many parts, especially SMEs that are only spectators in their own country.
“This new policy is an important correction so that they can also become an important player in the national mining sector,” he said.
The secretary general of the Beckar party emphasized Bahlil, took a brave step by introducing a more populist policy.
One of them is the participation of the MSME in mining management, so that those who have been marginalized have obtained a greater space for participation.
“This is a breath of fresh air for the national economy and supports the equitable distribution of well -being,” he said.
Bahlil also revoked the great commercial mining license (IUP) that had been abandoned and planned to share it with MSME, especially those of the local area.
According to Sarmuji, the step strengthens government alignments in local businesses and guarantees that the potential for natural resources is used to the interests of people.
“The policy of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, is a step forward to distribute prosperity more fairly. This shows that the State is present for people, not only for a handful of great entrepreneurs,” he said.
In addition, Sarmuji stressed that the oil import mafia that had benefited from the previous policy also attacked Bahlil.
“The oil import mafia that enjoyed a great income was also threatened by Bahlil’s policy to try to raise oil and gas lifting. They joined together to mount inclined narratives to shake the policies that really put on the side of the people,” he said.
Amid the progressive steps of Bahlil’s minister, ‘black’ businessmen who were harmed by this policy were actually fighting in several ways. They, Sarmuji said, even addressed issues that were not really the fault of Bahlil to lead public opinion.
“The attack addressed to Minister Bahlil is not an objective criticism, but a maneuver of interests that feel disturbed. I ask the public not to be deceived by their narratives,” he added.
The Gackar party faction of the Indonesian Parliament undertakes to continue supervising populist policies in favor of people and support the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, to carry out a fairer and more just and inclusive national mining governance.
