That is the same chip you will find in some of the best Android phones today, like the Galaxy S25, OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The unit tested had 16 GB of RAM, though a beefier 18 GB version might also be in the works. It is running Android 15 and packs the Adreno 830 GPU.
The upcoming phone was spotted on Geekbench.
With the Snapdragon 8 Elite onboard, Motorola’s clamshell finally steps into proper flagship territory. The current high-end Razr runs on the less powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which is basically a dialed-down version of the chip it is now replacing. So yeah – this should bring a serious performance jump.
That also means it might edge out Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7, at least on paper. Word is Samsung could go with the Exynos 2500 for that one, giving Motorola the upper hand in terms of raw performance.
Either way, it is in line with what everyone else is doing. Apple’s got the Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro models and the iPhone 16 series, and Nothing recently introduced the Essential Key for its AI hub on the Phone (3a) Pro.
If all this pans out, Motorola could be coming in hot with an even stronger contender in the foldable space that once again looks pretty great, too.
