Nothing’s sub-brand CMF is growing up and today it unveils its first Pro phone – it’s not just a name, this model has significant camera improvements and removes some deal-breakers from the original.

CMF Phone 2 Pro announced with 50MP tele and 8MP UW cameras, NFC and add-on lenses

The CMF Phone 2 Pro boasts a 50MP main camera with a larger 1/1.57” sensor, which captures 64% more light than the Phone 1 sensor, according to the company. The camera can record 4K video (at 30fps, 60fps is available at 1080p) and features AI-powered image stabilization.

While Phone 1’s camera stood alone, the Pro model brings two more lenses. First and foremost is the 50MP telephoto, an impressive feature for this segment. It has a 1/2.88” sensor and a 2x f/1.85 lens (with 20x digital zoom). Additionally, there is an ultra-wide camera too – 8MP 119.5° (f/2.2 lens, 1/4” sensor). This is a huge upgrade over the sole 50MP camera on the Phone 1. The selfie camera is the same, a 16MP module (f/2.45, 1/3”).

Interestingly, CMF has expanded its modular philosophy to the camera – there are now interchangeable lenses, one for macro photography and one for a fisheye look. Other new accessories include a universal cover and a wallet/stand.

The display on the CMF Phone 2 Pro is a tad larger at 6.77” (up from 6.67”), more importantly, it is a higher quality panel. It has 1080p resolution (19.9:9) and 120Hz refresh rate. It now boasts 10-bit color and HDR10+ support. It has 1,300 nits typical and 3,000 nits peak brightness with 2,160Hz high frequency PWM dimming. The display is protected by Panda Glass.

Speaking of protection, CMF upgraded the water resistance to IP54 (up from IP52 on the original). The phone measures 7.8mm thick and weighs 185g, making it a bit thinner and lighter than the original (8.2mm and 197g), despite having the same size battery. There are four color options at launch: White (with a sandstone finish), Black and Light Green (with a frosted glass texture) and, of course, Orange (with a metallic sheen).

The Pro phone is powered by a Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset. It’s a variant of the silicon that powered the first CMF Phone but now with 10% faster CPU and 5% faster GPU. The battery has 5,000mAh capacity and supports 33W charging (and 5W reverse charging). According to the official data, the Phone 2 Pro will play up to 22 hours of YouTube videos or up to 10 hours of Battlegrounds Mobile India. As for the battery, there is a long life ahead of it – it will retain at least 90% of its original capacity after 1,200 charge cycles.

The phone launches with Nothing OS 3.2 out of the box (based on Android 15). CMF will deliver 3 OS updates and will be releasing security patches for 6 years after launch.

The phone has 8GB of RAM and you can choose between 128GB and 256GB storage. There is a microSD card slot for more storage, if you need it.

One of the more common complaints that we heard about the original CMF Phone 1 was the lack of NFC – the Phone 2 Pro does have it, which enables wireless payments.
