Though Competitive and Quick Play are the primary game modes in Marvel Rivals, every few weeks players are treated to a fun, limited-time event to take part in. We now know the next one is called Giant-Size Brain Blast, a game type that, like its name suggests, increases a hero’s head size to comical proportions.

Giant-Size Brain Blast brings big heads to Marvel Rivals

Debuting on April 25, 2025, it appears Giant-Size Brain Blast will be available as the Conquest game type. Unlike Competitive and Quick Play, Conquest has two teams competing against one another in a standard team deathmatch format. However, unlike Conquest, no coins drop out of defeated enemies in the trailer, so it’s likely a little different. Funnily enough, another distinction is that every time you score a headshot, the feedback sound is now that of a squeaky toy.

A leaderboard also exists for every character in the game, and you can view it at any time while the event is active. The top-ranked players for every character will earn an exclusive title at the end of the event, based on how well they did. Being one of the most-played games on Steam, PC players will have their work cut out for them.

  • Top 10 – Planet-Sized Brain (character name)
  • Top 100 – Monster-Sized Brain (character name)
  • Top 500 – Giant-Sized Brain (character name)

Similar to Clone Rumble, the last event Marvel Rivals introduced, Giant-Size Brain Blast will have limited availability. In this case, you’ll have two separate periods to grind out the mode for a title (or for fun).

  • April 25, 2025 5:00 AM – April 28, 2025 8:00 PM (ET)
  • May 2, 2025 5:00 AM – May 5, 2025 8:00 PM (ET)

You can also unlock a limited emote for one hero

The trailer also revealed that you can unlock an exclusive Brain Blast emote for a hero of your choice after playing 10 Giant-Size Brain Blast matches. Keep in mind you can only get the emote for one character, so choose wisely. The emote itself is rather simple and has your hero standing still as their head is enlarged.

Hearkening back to retro games with a “big head” mode or a cheat to unlock it, Giant-Size Brain Blast seems like a fun event to play as you unwind from climbing the ranks. Be sure not to miss the available game times to score the emote and maybe even a title.
