No Mods for Oblivion Remastered

Following the live stream, as spotted by GamesRadar, the official Bethesda Support Page posted an entry regarding mods for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered for those who were interested. The page states that the game does not officially support mods, with no additional details beyond that.

Mods are not officially supported for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. If you are experiencing gameplay issues while playing with mods, it’s recommended you first try uninstalling your mods, then verify your games files on Steam, or the Xbox App.

Outside that one statement about mods, Bethesda did not give any indication if mod support would eventually be added to the game at a later date. Like many other Bethesda releases, the original version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion had support for mods on PC and console, enabling fans to form a community around sharing different mods that changed the game in new and interesting ways.

The response from fans has been mixed, with some being disappointed, while others discussing the news on Reddit still have faith that mods will eventually become possible. One user sharing thoughts about the news on Reddit believes someone will eventually figure out how to make it work. “From what I’ve overheard, it still loads files built for the base game/engine, so I reckon modders will figure something out pretty quickly.”

It may be a while before we hear any additional comment from Bethesda about officially supporting mods for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The game was just released on April 22nd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.
