Tablets are alive and kicking, and we’ve got another cool slate coming from China. The Honor GT was officially unveiled with some impressive specs, especially when you consider the starting price of CNY 1,899 ($260) for the 8/128GB version.

This device is a more affordable version of the GT Pro slate launched late last year but still manages to offer quite a lot for the price. The Pad GT comes with an 11.5-inch IPS LCD display with 2800 x 1840 px resolution and an impressive 144 Hz refresh rate.

The panel is also rated at 500 nits of brightness and is IMAX Enhanced certified as well, adding another level of immersion for multimedia consumption. There are a total of eight speakers to boost that multimedia experience too.

For comparison purposes, the latest 11-inch iPad still features the same slow and choppy 60 Hz refresh rate, lower resolution and pixel density, and the same IPS LCD tech with the same brightness.

The Honor Pad GT also supports the company’s proprietary Magic Pen stylus, but you have to buy it separately.

Inside the slate, we find the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset paired with either 8 or 12GB RAM. You can get one with 128, 256, or 512GB of onboard storage. The camera department is rather modest, which is normal for tablet devices. The main camera uses a 13MP sensor, and there’s also an 8MP front camera. Neither of these will win any Pulitzer awards for photography, but for the occasional Zoom call or a document snapshot, they will be perfectly fine.

One interesting addition is the keyboard and mouse mapping that Honor has added to the Pad GT. 18 gaming titles support this, so you can enjoy PC-like gaming on the tablet.

On the software front the Pad GT runs MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15 with all the cool AI tricks we know from the Honor Magic smartphone series.

Finally, the battery on board is a hefty 10,100 mAh cell with 66W wired fast charging support. The Honor Pad GT comes in Blue, Gray, and White and starts at CNY 1,899 ($260) for the 8/128GB variant. There’s no information on whether this tablet will be available globally, but fingers crossed.
