Star Wars Outlaws has been finally given a release date for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Fans of the intergalactic open-world title will be able to bring the fun to their upcoming Switch 2 consoles this fall as Ubisoft announced that the game would arrive on September 2nd, 2025, after only being given a vague 2025 release date.

You heard right! Ubisoft’s SWO will be blasting off on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4th, 2025, bringing some elevated features for the new experience. Unlike the Switch 1, the Switch 2 Star Wars Outlaws experience gameplay will be on par with the PS5 and Xbox Series X in the sense that it will run at 30 frames per second. Ubisoft released a new trailer to celebrate the release date for the Switch 2 version of the game to show off this fact, maybe.
The trailer arrived on Friday (April 18th), and it was strictly gameplay, which is great for the fans of the Outlaws series. Footage showed Stormtroopers causing mayhem, galactic dogfights, and the main character, Kay Vess, exploring the open-world setting of the Outer Rim.
For the Switch 2 port of the game, Ubisoft even released a new overview of the title.
“Star Wars Outlaws is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025! Star Wars Outlaws is the first open-world Star Wars game, an action-adventure journey from Ubisoft. In Star Wars Outlaws, fans play as cunning scoundrel, Kay Vess, and her loyal companion Nix as they attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. Seeking the means to start a new life, players will join Kay and Nix as they fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates and join the most wanted,” the official descriptor reads.

- Take on high-risk, high-reward missions from the galaxy’s crime syndicates. Steal valuable goods, infiltrate secret locations, and outwit enemies as one of the galaxy’s most wanted. Every choice you make influences your ever-changing reputation.
- Pilot your ship, the Trailblazer, as you engage in thrilling dogfights with the Empire and other foes. Find the right opportunities to chase, evade, and attack to get the upper hand.
