AT&T joins Verizon with a special plan to keep those at sea connected

A couple of days ago we told you that Verizon was teaming up with WMS to offer enhancements to the Verizon Cruise Daily Pass. The Daily Pass is available on over 200 cruise ships across more than 25 cruise lines and offers those on a cruise unlimited data (.5GB of high-speed data, then unlimited data at 3G speeds). The plan includes unlimited calls to the U.S. and unlimited texts for $20 per line per day. The new Verizon Cruise Daily Pass is cheaper than the previous version. More importantly, the plan removes call overage fees.

Verizon subscribers can sign up for the plan by texting CRUISE to 4004 or via the Verizon Trip Planner. Visit Verizon.com/cruise on your PC for more information. It sure sounds as though Verizon has things set for its customers about to enjoy a cruise. And now AT&T has joined Verizon by announcing its own $20 daily pass for passengers on a cruise. AT&T‘s reconfigured International Day Pass offers mobile connectivity on more than 400 ships and will also work on land during the same day at no extra charge.

Both Verizon and AT&T customers vacationing on certain cruise ships will be able to enjoy voice, texts, and data for only $20 per day. The new AT&T International Day Pass is now available and when added to an unlimited plan, it offers unlimited talk and text. AT&T‘s International Day Pass gives users .5GB of high-speed data to use over 24 hours with no data overages and unlimited talk and text.

Eligible AT&T plans include: AT&T Unlimited Premium PL, Unlimited Extra El, or Unlimited Elite. If you want service on land only, AT&T offers a 24 hour plan for $12 for one device. Additional lines used the same day are $6 each. With the new International Day Pass now offered by AT&T, the carrier has officially discontinued the older Cruise Basic and Cruise Plus plans for any voyage starting on or after April 16th. Any old passes activated before April 16th will expire 30 days after the start date.

If you are an AT&T or Verizon customer don’t miss out on  going on a cruise because you’re worried about being out of touch. Both wireless firms have revised their cruise plans to make it easier for you to stay connected while navigating the high seas.
